Ipswich Town finally achieved their long-awaited return to the Premier League after 22 years of waiting. The Tractor Boys secured their promotion by beating relegated Huddersfield Town 2-0 at Portman Road. Fans took to the field to celebrate their return to the top flight of English football.

Kieran McKenna, Ipswich manager, played a key role in the team’s success. Previously working as youth manager at Tottenham and Manchester United, McKenna guided Ipswich to promotion from League One to the Championship last season and has now achieved back-to-back promotions.

Leicester City was also promoted earlier this season and finished as champions of the division. The play-off contenders fighting for promotion to the Premier League alongside Ipswich Town are Leeds United, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City. It promises to be an exciting battle for the remaining promotion spots in the league.
