LATAM Group is excited to announce the launch of a new economy cabin design for its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The company has invested US$15 million to enhance the onboard experience for passengers. One of the key upgrades includes a new in-vehicle entertainment system that allows economy class passengers to connect their personal headphones via Bluetooth and enjoy a wide range of content on the 12-inch high-definition touchscreens. This includes over 170 movies, 550 episodes of TV shows, 100 music albums and exclusive content from popular platforms such as HBO Max, Paramount+ and Disney+.
Another improvement is the introduction of Panasonic’s Arcâ„¢, an interactive 3D map that provides passengers with detailed information about landmarks and streets from the air, allowing them to explore iconic places in different cities during the flight. The LATAM Group plans to introduce this new cabin design on a total of four aircraft this year, in a total investment of US$60 million, positioning them at the forefront of the region in terms of onboard entertainment.
The redesigned cabin also features seat covers made from 57% recycled leather, which reduces carbon emissions by up to 60% and saves water and soil by up to 55%. This sustainable material production is another step towards environmental friendliness, as all narrow-body aircraft in the LATAM Group fleet already include this environmentally friendly material. In addition, the cabin offers headrests, a 6-inch backrest and an updated onboard entertainment system with 12-inch screens.
Economy travelers also have the option to travel even more comfortably on LATAM+ seats, which provide extra legroom, more backrests, exclusive luggage space and priority boarding and disembarking. These improvements reflect the unique spirit and pride of South America and further enhance the overall flying experience for LATAM passengers.
