López Obrador: Miley’s Insensitive Comments Only Highlight His Own Ignorance

In response to comments made by Argentine President Javier Miley, who called him “ignorant” in an interview with CNN en Español, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he was still confused as to why Miley made such remarks. Lopez Obrador accused Miley of being inaccurate and despising the people, to which the Argentine president responded that he did not understand how Mexicans, known for their intelligence, could vote for someone who was ignorant and disrespectful.

Lopez Obrador also pointed out that Miley had made offensive statements toward other world figures, including accusing his countryman Pope Francis of being a communist. Despite this, the Mexican president did not announce any retaliatory measures against Argentina. Instead, he reiterated his stance that he will not cut ties with the country despite the differences between the two leaders.

Miley justified his remarks by sharing examples of Lopez Obrador’s past attacks on other leaders such as Colombian President Gustavo Petro. The Mexican president denied any wrongdoing and stressed that he would continue to work towards building positive relationships with all countries in the region.

In conclusion, while there may be ongoing tensions between Miley and López Obrador, both leaders have shown a willingness to work towards positive relationships and not cut ties despite their differences.
