The Midland Valley softball team faced Easley in a crucial Class AAAA elimination game on Wednesday night, after being forced to wait an extra night due to a storm the previous day. The frustration and determination the team felt was palpable, but they were determined to win and extend their season.
The Mustangs put in an impressive effort, scoring four runs in the first two innings. Their strong offensive performance was complemented by excellent pitching and defense, which helped secure the win. Pitchers Carleigh Bedenbaugh and Larue Hicks were outstanding on the mound, while the Mustang defense remained impenetrable for Easley, allowing only one hit throughout the game.
Offensively, Midland Valley excelled with 10 hits. Bailey Seabolt stood out with a perfect 4-for-4 bat, showing off her skills with a double, two steals and a run scored. Other players such as Haley Thornsberry, Addison Haltiwanger, Jordan Nelson and Ansley Heath also contributed hits and RBIs.
