The Midland Valley softball team faced Easley in a crucial Class AAAA elimination game on Wednesday night, after being forced to wait an extra night due to a storm the previous day. The frustration and determination the team felt was palpable, but they were determined to win and extend their season.
The Mustangs put in an impressive effort, scoring four runs in the first two innings. Their strong offensive performance was complemented by excellent pitching and defense, which helped secure the win. Pitchers Carleigh Bedenbaugh and Larue Hicks were outstanding on the mound, while the Mustang defense remained impenetrable for Easley, allowing only one hit throughout the game.
Offensively, Midland Valley excelled with 10 hits. Bailey Seabolt stood out with a perfect 4-for-4 bat, showing off her skills with a double, two steals and a run scored. Other players such as Haley Thornsberry, Addison Haltiwanger, Jordan Nelson and Ansley Heath also contributed hits and RBIs. The team’s resilient performance leading up to elimination was evident as they bounced back from setbacks to secure key wins.
Coach Katie Anderson praised the team’s attitude and focus, noting that they refused to give up despite facing elimination. It was clear that Midland Valley was fully committed to progressing in the tournament. As they continued their journey towards victory, it was evident that their determination and focus would be key factors in their success.
Midland Valley’s impressive 5-0 win over Easley extended their season by at least one more night as they faced Aerodrom in another important game scheduled for the following evening. The Mustangs made every effort to show their willingness to play and win as they faced off against Easley in what became a crucial match for them.
Coach Anderson praised her team’s attitude after their hard-fought victory over Easley saying “Their willpower to keep fighting until it’s over is what makes them stand out.” It was clear that Midland Valley’s determination had paid off as they prepared for another important match against Aerodrom.
