During National Volunteer Week, New York Cares is set to provide over 200 volunteer opportunities for individuals to give back to their community. The organization is dedicated to engaging over a thousand volunteers to serve those in need across the five boroughs of New York.
As part of the week’s activities, New York Cares volunteers recently helped fifth graders at PS 135 Sheldon A. Brookner in Brooklyn with science experiments. Through these activities, students were able to improve their understanding of basic science concepts and apply their knowledge to complete various projects, such as creating solar-paneled runners and building erupting volcanoes.
