The Tamil Nadu Science Forum recently hosted a free lecture on the evolution of the universe based on the standard model theory. Guest speaker Prafulla Kumar Behera, Professor of Physics from IIT-M, discussed the theoretical discovery of Peter W. Higgs and its impact on shaping the future of high-energy physics and technological advances in building accelerators such as the Large Hadron Collider and detectors like ATLAS that can identify the properties of particles. This event was part of the weekly scientific lectures organized by the forum, both online and offline.
In addition to this lecture, the science forum has also published articles on various topics recently. One article discusses what aspiring lecturers can expect after the release of KSET Results 2024, while another covers the KSET results declared by KEA, including information on qualifying marks, eligibility certificates for assistant professorships and more.
Furthermore, there is an article on MSc in Data Science at Vellore Institute of Technology that highlights how the program bridges skill gaps, offers diverse career opportunities and provides online skill enhancement with expert faculty.
Despite challenging weather conditions such as heat waves in April, special events at Kolkata Science City and BITM attracted record numbers. BITM’s successful programs and student interest contributed to this increase in visitors, while Science City’s AC galleries and Voyager movie viewing experience were popular with crowds. This shows continued interest in science and education even during challenging times.
Overall, these events highlight how science continues to inspire people despite difficult circumstances. Whether it’s through lectures or publications or special events at science museums or universities, there is always something new to learn about our universe.
