Six organizations have been selected by North Dakota Health and Human Services for its Suicide Prevention Funding Initiative, which aims to provide support to individuals struggling with mental health issues. The University of Minot Center on Disabilities, Peer Vision for Mental Health, Haugen Performance Consulting, Eyes on the Horizon Consulting, the Consensus Council, and the Cook Center for Human Connection were chosen based on their ability to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Melissa Markegaard, administrator for suicide prevention at HHS, emphasized the importance of early intervention in suicide prevention. She stated that all six organizations share a common goal of reducing and ultimately eliminating suicides in North Dakota.
