Slim Down with GLP-1 Injections: The New Weight Loss Trend and Its Side Effects

Weight loss injections have become increasingly popular as a way to achieve significant weight loss. These injections work by mimicking a hormone called GLP1, which helps lower blood sugar levels. However, they have also been found to suppress appetite and lead to significant weight loss. Originally developed for diabetics, the first injection, Sakenda, resulted in an 8% weight loss, followed by Ozmepic and Vigobi, which were found to be even more effective for weight loss and appetite suppression.

The dosage of Vigobi injection is 2.4 milligrams and is taken gradually to reduce side effects. The drug must be prescribed by a private doctor because doctors in health insurance funds are not obliged to prescribe it. It will be available in pharmacies from next week but there may be shortages due to high demand.

Treatment with weight loss injections should be continued until the desired weight loss is achieved, but discontinuation of treatment is possible at any time. Those who stop may regain weight. The price of injections ranges from 600 to 1,250 dinars depending on the dose. Common side effects include bloating, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. While the drug has been shown safe for chronic patients and reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke by 20% in overweight people with a history of heart disease, it’s important to note that a healthy lifestyle including proper diet and exercise is essential for optimal results
