Sustainability at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Village: Innovative Social Enterprises Promote Green Solutions

The Olympic and Paralympic Village is home to 24,000 residents, and three social enterprises have been awarded contracts worth €1.6 million to provide cleaning and laundry services to them. These companies are dedicated to social and environmental sustainability in their operations.

The Aquatic Center and La Chappelle Arena have 11,000 chairs made from sustainable materials developed as part of the Le Pave project. This project, created by three young entrepreneurs, focuses on transforming plastic waste into innovative materials that can replace cement and virgin plastic. What started as a student project has now become a successful business that prioritizes sustainability and innovation.

Halage, an association dedicated to training individuals facing barriers to employment, is responsible for the creation of green spaces within the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Village. Their work aims to reintegrate nature into urban areas that have been affected by pollution, promoting sustainability and community engagement .

HAVA AU FEMININ, a company that provides training in fashion activities, supported women facing life challenges in creating souvenirs from used textile materials from the Arena Porte de la Chapelle construction site. This initiative not only promotes creativity and skills development but also contributes to reducing waste and promoting sustainability in the construction industry.
