In the wake of the tragic Israeli Defense Forces attack that claimed the lives of seven World Central Kitchen workers in Gaza, restaurants across the United States are banding together to raise funds for the humanitarian organization. In North and South Carolina, establishments are taking a leading role in supporting the cause by participating in fundraising efforts organized by Benevolent Spirits, an Asheville-based hospitality group.

Benevolent Spirits is coordinating a range of fundraising activities to benefit World Central Kitchen, including asking bars and restaurants to designate a special cocktail or soft drink for the cause. When customers order the selected drink, the establishment will donate $1 to VCK. For example, Chai Pani and Botivalla have pledged to donate $1 for every mango lassi ordered at various locations.

Carolina restaurant participants include a diverse range of establishments such as Chai Pani, Botivalla, Curate, La Bodega, Ajja, Chubbi Fish, Montford Rooftop Bar, Soprana Rooftop Cucina, The Crunkleton, Twisted Laurel, Asheville Brewing Co., Posana, High Five Coffee
