Mr. Minh, a 75-year-old man, suffered from leg pain and difficulty walking due to blocked arteries in his lower limbs. The blockade posed a risk of severe anemia in both legs, with a lower extremity ischemia index indicating a risk of necrosis. Upon arrival at the hospital, Mr. Minh’s legs were severely blocked in the arteries of both lower extremities, including the iliac artery, the femoral artery, and the artery below the knee. Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) angiography was used to identify obstructions and calcifications in the arteries of both lower extremities. However, instead of a two-armed vascular bypass, the medical team decided to combine surgery and endovascular intervention to completely resolve the condition.
