VSFA 12 News is thrilled to announce the addition of Davis Baker to its team as a new sports reporter. Baker comes to VSFA after serving as sports director for KTEN in Denison, Texas for the past two years. During his time at KTEN, he was the nightly sports anchor, covering local and regional sports news in North Texas and Southeast Oklahoma. In addition, he produced and hosted game shows and football previews.
Baker is a native of Georgia and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Georgia. Prior to his time at KTEN, he interned at the VRBL in Columbus, GA and wrote for Bulldavg Illustrated in Athens, GA, focusing on UGA sports. Baker has a passion for SEC sports and wants to highlight high school, college and professional athletes in Alabama.
“I’m excited to join the VSFA team,” Baker said. “I look forward to working with Rosie Langello, our athletic director.” Langello expressed her excitement about Baker’s appointment as well, noting that his reputation in the industry as a hard worker with a positive attitude made him a standout candidate. “We are confident that he will be a valuable asset to our team,” she said. “His background as a former athletic director will also help us better understand the needs of our community.”
