Austin Head is a man who takes leg exercises very seriously, and it paid off when he broke the Guinness World Record for the most lunges in an hour by doing an incredible 2,825 lunges along the Brooklyn waterfront in DUMBO. To prepare for this record attempt, Head listened to motivational videos and uplifting music to get himself in the right mindset. His mantra “I AM POWERFUL, I AM STRONG!!” helped him achieve this remarkable feat.

Despite teaching nearly 30 hours a week as a trainer in Brooklyn, Head made sure to prioritize his recovery. He received weekly infusions, used red light therapy, cold dives and participated in stretching/massage sessions to keep his body in top condition. His friends, family and students cheered him on throughout the attempt, even in less-than-ideal weather conditions.

In addition to setting the world record, Head also worked to raise money for community sports programs and green parks where New York City children could play. He set out to raise $3 per lunge, but ended up raising an impressive $7,600 for the Life Time Foundation. Head’s dedication to fitness, determination and philanthropic efforts have made him a true inspiration to others.
