The upcoming World Cross Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, promise to be an exciting showdown between some of the world’s top runners. Kiplimo, who won both individual and team bronze medals at the last World Cross Championships in Bathurst, Australia, will once again be among the contenders.

Joshua is also set to make a return to the competition, where he will face off against other top names in the sport such as Ethiopia’s Berihu Aregavi and Kenya’s Sabastian Sava. The track in Belgrade offers much flatter terrain compared to previous events, which should provide a good challenge for all competitors.

Cheptegei has already shown impressive form with a fast 10km run in Spain and remains a strong contender for a medal in Belgrade. He is eager to add to his collection of individual accolades ahead of the Paris Olympics. The race will be held in the Friendship Park in Belgrade, with a loop of 1887m and a start and finish straight length of 270m and 320m, respectively. The course includes unique features such as arched bridges, a hay maze and traditional obstacle courses, with music stations marking milestones on the loop.

The event is scheduled to start with the U20 women’s race at 11am (CET), followed by the senior race at 1:30pm. Viewers around the world can watch the action via livestream on the World Athletics YouTube channel or World Athletics Inside Track
