On Thursday, two people were found dead in a unit of a Santa Ana office complex in what is believed to have been an attempted murder-suicide. The victims were identified as Jordan Block, 25, and Brian Martin, 64.

According to authorities, Block was visiting her uncle Martin when her boyfriend arrived. A niece called 911 to report that her boyfriend had stabbed her and her uncle. When the police arrived, the victims were already dead.

Martin was known for his friendly demeanor and taught self-defense classes for women. He also had a large collection of ancient swords, one of which was bloodied outside the garage. His motive for the attack is still being investigated.

Jordan’s boyfriend was found inside the unit with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was in critical condition as of Friday afternoon.
