This week in Lubbock brought some intriguing business news. On Monday, a car crashed through the wall of the Golden Corral, but an official from the restaurant assured that it would reopen by the end of the week. In addition to this incident, a new men’s hair salon with a rock and roll atmosphere is set to open soon. The Hairbreak Hotel, located at 2614 130th St., Unit 3, draws inspiration from Elvis Presley. Owner Tristan Chancey said his grandmother’s love of Elvis was the motivation behind naming the salon after the iconic song “Heartbreak Hotel.”

The salon will also offer an exclusive line of beard oils for customers. In other news, we’ll be featuring Ransom Canyon metalhead Dawna Gillespie in an article on Monday. Gillespie specializes in brass and copper jewelry and decorative arts. She shared insight into the science behind her craft, her choice of media, and how the Texas Tech course changed her path.

Don’t miss this enlightening article next week. Additionally, our monthly business roundup is scheduled for Wednesday to update readers on new openings, closings and announcements in the area. Thank you for your continued support of AJ!
