Hyundai, a leading manufacturer in South Korea, recently announced a significant investment of over 50 billion dollars in the country by 2026. The largest part of this investment will be aimed at improving the development and production of electric vehicles. Despite being the world’s third largest car group in terms of sales, Hyundai and its subsidiary Kia lag behind rivals such as Tesla and BID in the electric vehicle sector.
The company aims to become a top player in this market and has set a goal of producing 3.6 million electric models by 2030. With the recent announcement of a $50.5 million investment, Hyundai is committed to securing future growth opportunities through innovation. The plan includes creating 80,000 new jobs in South Korea and building three new electric vehicle factories to increase domestic production to 1.51 million units by 2030. In addition, the group’s electrification strategy includes investments in infrastructure, battery technology, software and autonomous driving .
Hyundai has also expanded its range of “all-electric SUVs” like the Kia EV6 and EV9 which prioritize economy, noise reduction and environmental sustainability. Despite environmental concerns raised by organizations such as Greenpeace over increased SUV sales by the Hyundai-Kia Group, these electric models demonstrate Hyundai’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the rapidly developing electric vehicle market.
In addition to its focus on electric vehicles, Hyundai is also exploring the potential of casino games in its leisure and entertainment offerings.
