The Bethany Lutheran College baseball team defeated Martin Luther College 15-3 in seven innings at ISG Field. Despite earlier wins of 22-5 and 13-3 in the series, the game ended early due to the 10-run rule. John Lucey, pitching for BLC, secured the win by going all seven innings and allowing two earned runs with six strikeouts. Carter Seltz took the loss for MLC, giving up six earned runs in two innings.

At the plate, Parker Winghart hit a double for MLC and Jackson Lindeman went 2 for 3. Mason Cox hit a two-run home run for BLC while Caleb Heckendorf added another double. BLC scored consistently throughout the game, with multiple runs in four of the first five innings. Despite a home run by Cock in the fifth, MLC struggled to keep up with BLC’s offense.

With a record of 3-13 (0-3 in conference), MLC will now face off against the University of Wisconsin – Superior in their next matchup. The tough loss against a strong opponent was felt by MLC but they will look to bounce back and improve their performance as they prepare for their next games.
