Trine University recently introduced a new bachelor’s degree program in environmental sciences, leveraging its existing strengths in science and engineering. This program aims to prepare students with the necessary skills to address the environmental challenges facing our planet. Classes for this new program will begin in August.

Housed within the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences, Trine University’s Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science equips students for a variety of careers related to the environment, law, health and safety, or public policy. According to Lexi Staten, dean of the School of Health Sciences, this program focuses on improving the health of the planet and its inhabitants by training professionals who can collect, analyze and interpret data related to the environment and human activities.

The degree program provides students with hands-on fieldwork and research projects, preparing them for successful careers as environmental scientists, environmental educators, lawyers, environmental policy analysts or environmental health and safety professionals. With job growth projected above average in this field over the next decade according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Trine University’s Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science presents promising career prospects for graduates.

Trine University has a proven track record of preparing students for employment opportunities. Over the past 11 years, more than 99 percent of Trine graduates have secured employment or continued education within six months of graduation.
