New Zealand has announced their 15-man provisional squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, with only Matt Henry and Rachin Ravindra set to play in their maiden T20 World Cup. The team will be led by Kane Williamson, and there are also experienced players Tim Southee and Trent Boult. Devon Conway was named in the squad after recovering from a broken thumb, while Ben Sears was named as the 16th traveling reserve.

Devon Conway’s inclusion in the squad is a testament to his determination to recover from injury and play at the highest level. He was earlier ruled out of the IPL due to a thumb injury but is now fit for the World Cup. Kane Williamson returns to lead the team after missing the last two T20I series, while fast bowler Adam Milne and Kyle Jamieson are unavailable due to injury. Other players who have recovered from injury and made the squad include Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, James Neesham and Ish Sodhi.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead is confident that the team has all bases covered for the various conditions they may face in the West Indies. He praised Matt Henry for his hard work to improve his skills in all phases of the T20 game. Stead also praised Rachin Ravindra for his consistent performances over the past year.

New Zealand’s full T20 World Cup 2024 squad includes: Kane Williamson (c), Finn Allen, Trent Ball, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham
