In a tragic turn of events at the Bulovka University Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic, an expectant mother underwent an abortion instead of a routine check-up, resulting in a miscarriage. The incident occurred when the woman and another patient arrived at the gynecology department almost simultaneously. Another patient was scheduled for a procedure known as “curettage,” but it was mistakenly performed on the wrong woman, leading to devastating consequences.

The Ministry of Health was promptly informed about the incident and expressed their deepest condolences to the patient and her family. The hospital’s director and head of the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics admitted responsibility for the error and temporarily removed those responsible from their duties. Compensation was offered to the injured parties, who are both foreign nationals residing in the Czech Republic.

The case was first reported by CNN Prima News, with ministry spokesman Ondrej Jakob describing it as an unforgivable mistake. The hospital expressed its willingness to provide compensation but did not disclose the identities of those involved. The incident drew widespread attention and sparked discussions on various platforms, including forums, blogs, and social media.
