Olivia Maurais and Asher Michel, two talented skiers from Winter Park competition center, have been chosen to represent the Stifel US Freestyle Ski Team and US Ski & Snowboard at the World Junior Freestyle Skiing Championships in Valmalenco, Italy. They will be competing in the prestigious event that will take place April 3-6 at Chiesa Resort.

Michel, who has made his second appearance at the championships, had a successful run in 2023 where he won gold in the team dual moguls and was third in the moguls. This season, Michel continued to excel and won dual moguls gold at the NorAm Cup at Stratton Mountain Resort on March 2nd. His performances will be closely watched by both fans and competitors as he aims to make his mark on the international stage.

Maurais also had a strong season, competing in multiple NorAm and World Cup events. She placed ninth in the mogul at the USA Freestyle Nationals and fifth in the mogul at the NorAm Cup at Deer Valley Resort. Her skills were showcased at Winter Park Resort, where she finished third before her home crowd. Maurais is determined to continue her success and bring more recognition to herself and her team.

Both Michel and Maurais have been working tirelessly to prepare for this upcoming championship, and their performances are highly anticipated by fans and competitors alike. Their goal is to make a lasting impression on the international stage and bring back more accolades for themselves and their team.
