Embracing Diversity and Inclusion: The Science Director’s Vision for the Future of the Office of Science”.

As Science Director, I am proud of the progress our office has made towards becoming more inclusive, accessible and equitable. Through initiatives such as the RENEV, FAIR and PIER plans, we have evaluated our culture and processes and made necessary changes.

I am grateful for the dedication of everyone in our office who has engaged with communities through initiatives such as office hours, site visits and conference engagements. These efforts reflect our commitment to ensuring that federal resources are equitably distributed to serve the public.

As we look to the future, I hope that the Office of Science will continue to be a place where everyone can find a sense of belonging and purpose, regardless of their role in enabling science. I will continue to advocate for science and look forward to seeing the Office of Science educate and inspire stakeholders while promoting sustainable practices, especially in the face of the climate crisis.

I am optimistic that the Office of Science and the Department of Energy will uphold their commitment to inclusivity and diversity in scientific progress, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds to contribute to scientific progress. Serving as Science Director has been the greatest honor of my life and I am grateful for the meaningful experiences we have shared over the past few years.
