Montana State University’s Spectrum Laboratory director, Dr. Krishna Rupavatharam, will share his expertise on photons and their various applications in science and innovation at the Museum of the Rockies on April 24 at 6 p.m. This talk is part of a scientific research series entitled “From Telecommunications to Teleportation: Enabling Easy Actions.”
During the presentation, Dr Rupavatharam will discuss his knowledge of photonics, the science of light, and how it can be used in applications ranging from remote sensing and holographic imaging to quantum teleportation and communication. He earned a Ph.D. in optical physics from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India, and worked at the Lund Institute of Technology in Sweden before joining the MSU Spectrum Laboratory. In addition, he serves on the board of directors of the Montana Photonics and Quantum Alliance.
The science research series talks are free and open to the public and are sponsored by the Friends of Science of Gallatin Valley and Mount Hope. The event will be hosted by the Museum of the Rockies, with a question and answer session following Dr. Rupavatharam’s presentation.
