The Phillies’ opening day was postponed due to rain, delaying the start of their season by 24 hours. However, the team announced its initial roster for the regular season on Thursday afternoon, which included placing five players on the injured list.

The 26-man roster consists of 13 pitchers, 2 catchers, 5 infielders, 4 outfielders, 1 utility player and 1 designated hitter. Some notable pitchers on the roster include Jose Alvarado, Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler. Catchers JT Realmuto and Garrett Stubbs are included, along with infielders Alec Bohm and Brice Harper. Outfielders Nik Castellanos and Cristian Pache are also part of the lineup.

Several right-handed pitchers were placed on the injured list, including Taijuan Walker, Orion Kerkering, Dylan Covey and Michael Rucker. Catcher Rafael Marchan was also listed because of lower back pain. All five injuries are retroactive to March 25.
