Thomas Fudge, founder and CEO of VASE, shared his vision of a technology that will revolutionize the waste treatment and energy sectors by optimizing waste decomposition and increasing methane production worldwide. According to the company’s website, their investment is a crucial step in their strategy to scale up and deliver their electromethanogenic reactor technology to customers. This cutting-edge technology is designed to maximize biogas recovery from organic matter in wastewater, ensuring that anaerobic digestion plants achieve the highest possible yields.
The company claims that their units can increase biogas production by 30%, which is up to ten times faster than traditional AD processes. In addition, this technology increases the methane content of biogas to over 80%, surpassing the typical 50-60% found in conventional AD processes. The plug-and-play system is designed to fit seamlessly into existing infrastructure and is significantly smaller (50-70%) than similar technologies currently available on the market. This modular solution allows for customization, making it easier for companies to deploy at their location and ultimately lead to increased energy production and lower costs in the long term.
Carlotta Ochoa Neven Du Mont, director of Ektantia, commented that VASE’s approach not only increases biogas and biomethane yields but also reshapes the way industrial companies think about their resources. Technology is making AD processes more profitable and productive while driving a shift toward more sustainable and efficient resource management practices. The company’s commitment to innovation has set them apart as leaders in the biogas market, positioning them for continued success in years to come.
