Kiev and several other Ukrainian cities have been hit by new attacks from the Russian military, resulting in the death of at least three people and the wounding of fifteen others. The attacks came as a powerful explosion was reported in Mykolaiv, believed to have been caused by a ballistic missile fired at Ukrainian authorities. In the second series of attacks, one person was killed and several were injured.

Novokhrodivka in the Donetsk region also faced attacks by Russian forces, resulting in another death as confirmed by Governor Vadim Filashkin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Western partners for more “political will” in the delivery of weapons, after continuous bombing by Russian forces that targeted Kiev throughout the night and injured fifteen people.

Zelensky’s plea for support comes at a time when Ukraine is facing increasing aggression by Russian troops in various regions. Kherson Governor Oleksandr Prokudin condemned the continued killing of Russian soldiers in the region after a rocket hit a building he was in, resulting in one death. As tensions continue to rise between Russia and Ukraine, it remains to be seen what impact these latest attacks will have on both countries and their relationship with each other.
