In the Division 4 state final, Whiteford’s Ally VanBrandt led off the first inning with a single, giving her team an early advantage. Meanwhile, Monroe graduate Ellie Sieler and Whiteford product Ally VanBrandt are set to face off this weekend in a highly anticipated softball series. Sieler leads Michigan while VanBrand plays for Indiana, both players leading their teams in hitting with VanBrand posting a .380 average and Siler hitting .363.

In prep baseball, Bedford suffered an 8-3 loss to Warren DeLaSalle after a five-run third inning by their opponents. Despite outscoring DeLaSalle 6-5, Bedford committed five errors. Jace Bloomer and Andrew Kuebeler had RBIs for Bedford, while several players contributed hits.

In youth wrestling, Manor Elementary third-grader Sullivan Lane of Monroe won the MIVAI state championship over the weekend. In senior football, Travis Campbell kicked five goals to lead the Old Crows to an 8-5 win over Athletic on the opening night of Winter Session III at LevelUp Training. Priest Mike Anagbogu scored twice for Atletico.
