In 1979, David Katz founded Alternative Energy Engineering (AEE Solar) in Redway, California, as a solar enthusiast. Over the years, the company has grown to become a significant distributor in the California housing market. However, on May 3, 2024, AEE Solar will be closing its doors.

In preparation for their closure, AEE Solar is currently selling off their remaining inventory at clearance prices. The company has a long history of providing high-quality equipment and excellent customer service to its customers.

In 2014, Sunrun acquired AEE Solar along with SnapNrack. As part of the acquisition, AEE Solar recommends that its customers contact their territory sales manager for potential opportunities to purchase directly from SnapNrack in the future.

Last year, AEE Solar opened a massive 140,000 ft2 distribution center in Visalia, California. The center signaled their commitment to serving their customers with end-to-end excellence. For more information on AEE Solar’s closure and how to purchase from SnapNrack in the future, see their statement below.
